Every Spring semester MICA Design League hosts Clever Claver, an annual event where a select group of graduating graphic design seniors are nominated to give presentations about their degree project, past work experiences, design process, and inspiration(s) to the graphic design community at MICA.
Starting this year we decided to create a fall semester version of Clever Claver for the fall graphic design graduates. Instead of only creating poster flyers to promote the event, MDL designed a variety of promotional materials and gifs to heighten the excitement.
Motion Graphics put together by Alec Cerminaro.
MICA Design League was having our first meeting of the year and we wanted to ensure the poster design reflected how fun and easy-going design league is, encouraging people to attend and get involved regardless of their experience in design.
The graphics of the flyer were also adapted to best fit on Instagram to boost our advertising of the meeting.
Poster made for MICA Design League’s plotter drawing and vinyl cutter demo, one of a series of demos put together for students by MICA Design League throughout the semester to give students the opportunity to learn new tools to use in their own practice.
For the creation of this poster I focused on the use of the pen tool, creating an intriguing lettering that embraces the potential of the tool itself.
CMY: An Alternate Reality is an experiment with stereoscopic photography, a technique for creating or enhancing the illusion of depth through the usage of two offset pictures. Inspired by an early 20th century stereoscope, this piece strives to explore the medium as a way to enter an anternate reality with very little technology, which, ironically, is a world composed of the color language utilised most commonly on screen.
